I was really excited for this tool. The UI appears pretty slick and well designed, however no matter what I select the treemap is blank. It says to check the filter list and/or minimum file size, but the filter is blank and the minimum file size is 1 byte. I’m sure this is a weird bug of some sort, but unfortunately I’m out of 5 bucks with nothing to show for it. Bummer.
Is this somebody’s idea of a cute program? When I want to see a map of my disk, I don’t mean I want to watch a program display a counter of the number of files on that disk, one by one. Such a counter would be useful to a beginner programmer trying to debug his first program. But I’m really not interested. I won’t live long enough to see my map at the incredibly slow speed ths program is counting the files and displaying the updated counter.
Identified, and showed me the size impact of Windows installation programs that I inadvertently transferred to my new iMac; allowing me to delete them quickly and free up space that would have been totally wasted.
Scanned 2TB and freed up 0.0KB… $4.99 for a cute map??? What a waste...
I went with this app in lieu of the free ‘Grand Perspective since it was in the app store. Unfortunately, it only found ~70GB worth of content in a 256GB drive. I installed and ran the free app, and it found all the items that were taking up space. I feel like I wasted $5. :(
Disk Map is a must have app allowing the user to visually see the files on the system’s drives, and how much space they are occupying. It allows the user to independently select a specific folder for review, as well as the entire system, along with any cloud drives that are being used.
this is Great, help get rid of unwanted files giving more Space!!
Stop asking for a rating, likes and shares and NO I dont want any of your other products. So here is a review, its decent at best.
Disk map’s very useful in that it clearly lays out data in a tree map form. This allows me to precisely visualize the contents of whatever folder I scanned and see what is taking up space and where. This helps me to simply delete or compress what I need to thereafter. Very useful and easy to use.
I love this program. I was able to see all programs laid out by size and decide which I wanted to remove. I was able to remove more than 50GB and save my macbook pro from certain doom. I absolutely love this program, did I say that already?
I wish there was a way to get my money back. It did no more than finder and was harder to read.
I can start and run a scan but that is about it. I cannot interact with the scan.
The main reason I bought this is that I thought it would be faster than the free alternatives, it’s actually marginally slower. It should be instant using the B-tree catalog file and/or spotlight index. But the really annoying part is that it constantly nags me to purchase other apps. Also, why do I have to click Next after it’s finished scanning? Trivial, but unnecessary. It also doesn’t have a full screen option. Once you finally get to the main window, it’s slightly better looking than the free options.
Bought this and still use the far more intuitive Disk Inventory X.
Hard to use and very ineffective on a MacBook air.
I love this app. It was well worth the $5. But you know what I don’t love? Being prompted to subscribe to your mailing list every time I start it up, as well as FIPLABs “recommended apps.” I’ve already purchased an app from you for $5. Is that not enough? Normally I wouldn’t complain about such an inconvience. But it appears I can’t turn off this splash page. Please stop trying to upsell users.
This app was worth the cost. I searched high and low before buying it. It makes it painless to both identify space-hogs on your Mac - and to delete them too.
